I really enjoy analogue film. Perhaps it’s one part nostalgia - it is what I grew-up with - and the fact it forces me to be patient. Digital photography has it’s place, but I welcome the slower pace of film, whether it’s so-called instant film or 35mm. In addition to the different process for capturing images is the baked in qualities of Polaroid film. The muted colours and tones, I find, are very pleasing to the eye. Perhaps because they remind me of the snapshots my grandfather use to take.
These images are Polaroid emulsion lifts on 25% cotton watercolour paper made in Italy. This paper was chosen for the texture it adds to the images. The collages are printed on 11x14, the single images are on 8x10 paper. Each is a one-of-a-kind print.
Prints are made on request.
